We live in a an age and a culture that is no longer based primarily on the Christian worldview. In fact, the Christian faith is dismissed as untrue or irrelevant, and increasingly described as foolish or even morally corrupt. Since we are embedded in this culture, we must work hard to gain the tools necessary to succeed in being true ambassadors for Christ. To do this we must not only know what we believe, but why it should be believed and passionately lived out. This requires building an intellectual foundation for our faith, a concrete base for our worldview, and the skills to confidently engage friends in conversations of spiritual significance. This is a process that the church can and should encourage and facilitate.
Christian Challenge, along with our partners listed below, is committed to help encourage and facilitate this process at Washburn University and in our community. We are engaged in a systematic process of addressing the fundamental questions of reality and faith in a series called “What’s the question?”. The questions we are addressing are:
We are bringing in the best scholars and presenters to address one of these questions on a regular basis. This year we are starting our second time through. The question "What better explains reality: Naturalism or Theism?" will be debated by two prominent scholars.
